Wallace Pack Unit Release Paths
Wallace Pack Unit is a TDCJ state prison at 2400 Wallace Pack Road in Navasota. It is not a Grimes County Jail branch. A sentenced person leaving Pack may discharge the prison sentence, enter parole, enter mandatory supervision, move to an approved release site, or transfer to another TDCJ unit. The word “release” must be tied to the exact TDCJ status.
A discharge ends the sentence or supervision term shown by TDCJ. Parole and mandatory supervision are conditional community releases with an unexpired sentence. A unit transfer ends confinement at Pack but not TDCJ incarceration. The assigned release place may differ from Pack's gate because state processing considers approved plans and legal county of residence.

Confirm Wallace Pack Unit Release
The public TDCJ search is useful before release but excludes people who are no longer incarcerated in a TDCJ facility. A vanished result is not a historical release record. - Read the location and Projected Release Date as current fields, not proof that departure occurred.

Preserve the exact status and source date. Match at least two stable identifiers, since a name alone may point to the wrong person. TDCJ accepts four public search fields. Last Name must be exact when searching by name, and at least a First Name initial is also required. A TDCJ Number or SID Number can identify the record directly. Data is updated on working days and may be at least 24 hours old.

A current detail can show unit location, offenses, and Projected Release Date. That date is calculated by TDCJ Classification and Records and can change. It is not always a parole date and does not guarantee a specific gate exit. A later Scheduled Release Date indicates further processing, while Actual Release Date records the event.

This statewide ownership is why Sheriff Records cannot supply Pack's release certificate or sentence calculation.
Wallace Pack Unit Release Records
The simple TDCJ email service can provide the TDCJ number, location, offense, incarceration history, and Projected Release Date. For a former prisoner, ask for prior incarceration history and recorded release or discharge information. Send the full name and seven-digit TDCJ number to pia@tdcj.texas.gov. Without that number, provide exact date of birth or approximate age and county of conviction.
A formal request is appropriate when the needed existing record goes beyond the simple information service. Request the exact record needed: incarceration history, release date, release type, release location when public, supervision status, or certificate. TDCJ's no-charge email service does not provide photographs. County public-information requests cannot compel the Grimes Sheriff to create or release a TDCJ record.

Wallace Pack Unit Release Dates
Projected Release Date is TDCJ's calculation of when a person is expected to leave incarceration if not paroled sooner. It can depend on offense title and date, sentence structure, time credits, mandatory-supervision eligibility, and Board action. Good-conduct time affects eligibility under Texas law; it does not simply reduce the sentence term.
A Parole Eligibility Date marks possible review. It is not approval. Maximum Expiration Date is the sentence-end calculation. Scheduled Release Date means later operational processing has occurred, but TDCJ warns it may change without notice. Actual Release Date is the event field that matters most after departure.
After approval, TDCJ reviews the residence plan, county requirements, discipline, programs, special needs, conditions, and other eligibility factors before a certificate issues. A favorable parole vote does not itself establish that the person has left Pack. Use release-status channels for the current stage and request a record for durable proof.
Pack and Luther Release Geography
Pack and O. L. Luther Unit are co-located near Navasota, while Grimes County Jail is in Anderson. This makes local search terms easy to misread. A Navasota prisoner may be in TDCJ custody even though the prison lies within Grimes County. The Sheriff does not own that state offender file.
Luther opened in July 1982, shares agricultural operations with Pack, and lists CHANGES/Pre-Release and Reentry Planning. Pack's release route follows the same state ownership rule even though its programs and custody profile are facility-specific. TDCJ may release a person at an assigned location or transfer the person to another unit.

Supervision After Pack Unit Release

State IVSS can show release, parole review, Board vote, warrant, return, and end-of-supervision events. A parole warrant or residential placement changes the practical status without turning the original Pack record into a county jail case. Full discharge is different because the sentence or supervision term has ended.
Ask precise questions: Was the outcome parole, mandatory supervision, discharge, or transfer? What date did TDCJ record? Which office supervises the person? A general statement that someone “left Pack” is not enough to answer those points.
